Weight-neutral nutrition care for people who want to support their health without dieting or fighting their body.

Thoughtful, evidence-based support for complex relationships with food and health

I’m Karen Fry, an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Newcastle, NSW.

I work with adolescents and adults seeking an alternative to weight-centred health advice, and a more supportive way to care for their health. Appointments are offered primarily via Telehealth, with limited in-person availability.

My work has evolved over time towards supporting people with more complex and long-standing health concerns. I now offer a more flexible model of care, allowing for thoughtful, ongoing support tailored to individual needs.

This is nutrition care grounded in nourishment, safety, and quality of life — not weight loss or rigid food rules.

If you’re here, you might be…

  • Feeling stuck with food or eating

  • Exhausted by dieting or trying to “get it right”

  • Living with an eating disorder or disordered eating

  • Managing a health condition where weight loss was prescribed — and didn’t help

  • Using appetite-affecting medications and wanting grounded, non-judgemental support

You don’t need to have everything figured out to be here.

A weight-neutral diet approach

I practise from a weight-neutral, non-diet framework, informed by Health at Every Size® (HAES®) principles and eating-disorder-informed care.

That doesn’t mean ignoring health. It means approaching health without harm.

Care here is collaborative, evidence-based, and paced — with attention to both physical and psychological wellbeing.

Experience that spans complexity

My background includes medical nutrition, gut health, diabetes, renal disease, and — over the past decade — a strong focus on eating disorders, disordered eating, and chronic dieting histories.

Many people I see live at the intersection of several of these experiences. Care is always shaped around the whole person, not just one concern.

What working together looks like

There are no rigid plans or one-size-fits-all rules here.

Sessions are individual, practical, and responsive — shaped by what’s happening in your life, your health, and your relationship with food right now.

Appointments are available in person and via telehealth.
